Richard’s first experience in massage training was a short course in relaxation massage at Holmesglen Tafe in 1998. His motivation for doing this short course was to learn the proper techniques and the contraindications for massage. This initial training was an asset for Richard’s family and friends who benefited from the massages he treated them to as he continued to hone and develop his skills over the years.
Though massage was just a hobby at first, with encouragement from his friends and family, in 2009 Richard decided to make a career change and become a professional massage therapist. Enrolling into Copeland College of Massage, he completed his Certificate of Relaxation Massage, Certificate of Sports Massage and Diploma of Remedial Massage. Upon completing his Diploma course, he was asked to work at Copeland College as a massage therapist in their clinic.
Since becoming a professional massage therapist, Richard has treated a wide range of clients including people recovering from injuries or sickness, amateur and professional cyclists, marathon runners, triathletes, dancers and also other massage therapist.
