What is a Chiropractor?

A chiropractor is a health care professional focused on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders, with an emphasis on treatment through manual adjustment and/or manipulation of the spine.

What do I need to bring?

Be prepared to provide your previous medical or surgical history. If you have them and if they are relevant bring X-Ray/Ultrasound/MRI reports, and list of medication. Please also bring any relevant health insurance cards or concessions.

How many visits will I need & how long will I need chiropractic treatment?

The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the chiropractor will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process.

Treatment duration depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your impairments, your past medical history, and other factors.  Re-evaluations will be done to assess your progress and your chiropractor will communicates with you to help you achieve your therapy goals.

What should I wear to my appointment?

You can wear just about anything you are comfortable in and that you can move in easily. The looser the clothes (jogging pants, running shorts, t-shirts and tank tops), the easier it will be to work on you!

Do I have to be referred by a doctor?

No, chiropractors can assess and treat without referral by a doctor.

What conditions does chiropractic treat?

Chiropractors diagnose and treat many different spinal disorders that cause musculoskeletal or nerve pain. Similar to other types of doctors, a chiropractor performs a physical and neurological examination as part of his or her process of making an accurate diagnosis.

How do I know if my insurance covers chiropractic treatment?

You will need to check with your health insurance provide to determine if our services are covered under your plan. Here at Gargan we are a BUPA first member so additional coverage is offered by BUPA for our services (Including massage).
